When deciding which Hawaiian Island to visit, you may be concerned about making the wrong choice. But rest assured that an Apple vacation to just about any area of the islands will likely end up becoming the vacation you desire. With all inclusive vacation packages available in many different locations, you're sure to enjoy yourself!

Oahu

Oahu is the third largest of the Hawaiian Islands, but has the greatest population due to the state capital of Honolulu being located on the southeast coast. Oahu was the first island spotted by James Cook's voyaging crew in 1778, when they became the first Europeans to discover and visit the Hawaiian Islands.

Oahu's scenic landscapes have been featured in many different movies and television shows, including Lost, Jurassic Park, Hawaii Five-O, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Honolulu

In Hawaiian, Honolulu means "sheltered bay" or "place of shelter." In a 2009 assessment, a British consulting firm ranked it as the 29th best city in the world in quality of living.

Oahu is the most popular island among those who book Apple vacations because of the wide array of activities available in Honolulu. There are many all inclusive vacation packages at the many hotels that exist there. Of course, the regular Hawaiian activities are still enjoyed, such as swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling, and surfing, but there are many others in addition.

The state capital of Hawaii is home to many interesting sites worth checking out if you feel like spending a day away from the beach.

1. The Arts District is made up of twelve blocks housing many arts and cultural institutions.
2. Ala Moana is the world's largest open air shopping center and Hawaii's biggest mall.
3. Waikiki is the area for tourists in Honolulu. This area boasts over a thousand hotel rooms in total. It has many shops, restaurants, and nightlife venues.

Pearl Harbor

West of the city, a top attraction is Pearl Harbor, site of the infamous attack on December 7, 1941 that forced the United States to enter into World War II. This area is overflowing with history and significance for the entire world and especially Americans. Today, it is an official National Historic Landmark, as are the Arizona, Bowfin, and Utah, ships that remain on site. Pearl Harbor is still an active military base as well.

Climate

Oahu has a tropical climate consisting of two seasons: the wet and dry season. Though they are identified as distinct, the truth is that the island is actually beautiful and satisfying all year round because of trade winds that keep the island from getting too hot.

The summer highs tend to be in the upper 80s, while the winter highs are in the upper 70s-low 80s. So it's going to be warm no matter when you go!

The Hawaiian Islands do tend to get a little rain from time to time, but Oahu actually receives very small quantities and they tend to be fleeting and gone in no time.

When Should You Go?

In all honesty, there really is no bad time to visit Oahu. If mid-high 80s is too warm, then plan to go during the winter. The winter nights can get chilly, but the days are still warm and pleasant. Many Apple vacations are booked during the busy spring break and summer travel season, so discounted vacation packages often are available in the winter...and the best part about planning a winter trip is being able to escape before a snowstorm covers your city white powder in the cold!
